Sentis Managed Solutions has successfully completed the implementation of SYSPRO ERP to its cloud hosting environment for Fluenta, a global leader in flow gas meters, who supply 75% of the world’s oil rigs and refineries. The company is headquartered in Bergen, Norway, with offices in Cambridge, Poland and the USA as well as a remote team which operates across Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia.
The dispersed nature of the 40 strong SYSPRO userbase presented some interesting challenges which we addressed with a hybrid cloud solution, delivering Desktop as a Service (DaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) to the three offices and for remote staff. In addition to migrating SYSPRO ERP to a new cloud platform, we also delivered Office 365 including Exchange 365 and implemented Azure Active Directory to provide greater administrative control to the business.
Supply Chain Director of Fluenta, Julian Dudley-Smith, is delighted with the outcome of the project: “Sentis took the time to understand our requirements when it came to setting up appropriate cloud solutions. We were impressed with their pragmatic approach to designing a robust and scalable solution.”
Director Neil Homer commented: “The fact that the Fluenta team are so geographically spread made for a really interesting project. It was absolutely critical to maintain access for all staff, which when you’re dealing with data extraction and migrations across Oslo, Gdansk, Houston, Cambridge, Lisbon, Dubai and Delhi, required a lot of planning to get right. By taking a ‘do it once, do it right’ approach, we designed and implemented a custom Hybrid Cloud solution, which combined the best of the Microsoft Cloud and Office 365 with Private Cloud and custom integration technologies. The result is a fully managed Desktop as a Service solution, with a seamless user experience (UX) across both laptop and remote desktop.”
For Julian, it was an important project to get right: “We hadn’t anticipated quite how much Sentis really understood what we wanted and what we required in order to achieve a unilateral, sturdy infrastructure. Having this platform has been nothing less than transformational for our business. I can’t thank Sentis enough and couldn’t imagine going through this with any other IT partner.”
With the system fully functional, Sentis will provide ongoing platform management and helpdesk support services.
