    After leaving the military, Darren moved into network security and has worked for organisations including the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Thales Defence, Warner Bros. and Unilever. In 2016, he co-founded Protos Networks and is responsible for all technical and cyber security operations. Darren is a certified Cyber Scheme Team Leader, a Lead Cyber Essentials Assessor and holds a range of cyber security certifications from organisations such as Cisco, CREST, CrowdStrike and LevelBlue.

    Greg Charman – Lead Penetration Tester, Protos Networks

    Greg Charman is a Certified Red Team Operator and Offensive Security Certified Professional. He is skilled in a wide range of security testing disciplines, including infrastructure, web application, cloud, and physical security testing. Before joining Protos, Greg worked for penetration testing companies, including Pen Test Partners and iStorm.

    Ed Knox – Product Manager, Brigantia Partners

    With over seven years inside the IT sector and four years of experience in cybersecurity, specialising in email security, data loss prevention, and insider risk management, Ed has held roles in sales, product specialist, and product development for a cybersecurity distributor. Passionate about safeguarding digital assets and keeping users both secure and productive, he leverages his expertise to deliver tailored solutions and drive meaningful outcomes for clients

    Ed Knox outlines how FortiDLP (Data Loss Prevention) helps to protect sensitive data, as well as explaining why securing the network perimeter remains a crucial element of a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy. He will also discuss the importance of addressing insider threats, detecting and preventing accidental or malicious data leaks from within an organisation.

    The Cyber Security and Resilience Bill – Darren Kewley, Protos Networks

    The new Cyber Security and Resilience Bill aims to strengthen the UK’s cyber defences, particularly critical services and infrastructure. The legislation brings many more organisations into scope and bolsters regulatory powers. In this session, Darren Kewley will discuss the content of the Bill, including which organisations need to be compliant – and how.

    Red Team vs. Blue Team: Anatomy of an Attack and How to Defend Against It – Darren Kewley and Greg Charman, Protos Networks

    In this session, Darren Kewley and Greg Charman will demonstrate the weaknesses attackers look to exploit and how, drawing on recent critical incidents handled by Protos’ Security Operations Centre. They will reveal the tactics attackers use to gain access to sensitive information and discuss the controls organisations can use to keep their data out of the wrong hands.
